April 10, 2002 - The State, Regina, SK Posted By Ladylike Alright, I'll share! I wasn't going to because to tell you the truth, this board has gotten a little out of hand with both fights and rumors and that's why I haven't been posting at all. And that's why Dave hasn't been posting either. I talked to him for a bit after the show on Wednesday and he said he still reads it once in a while but doesn't post basically because of the fighting. So on with a review of the show! I claimed my spot early, right in front, right in the middle. left Pencey was fantastic!! I really can't say enough about them! I felt bad for them too, because the stage at the State is very small as is, and they had Forrest's drum set in back and Andrew's (lP) set in front of it making it right on the edge of the stage. So it was way too crowded for them on stage and put most of them on a bad angle for me to get any really good shots. In the middle of one tune they incorporated a little "Blown Wide Open" and that was really cool! They played for about 45 minutes and the crowd seemed to be diggin it, I sure was anyway! Big Wreck finally hit the stage! Started off with Inhale again and then played "Look What I Found" (don't quote me on that though) Ian talked to the crowd alot more at this show and played "Oh Canada" on one of his guitars. That was way cool! "Another Brick in the Wall" was short but sweet, but the best part of the night was the encore! I can't remember what they played first, but for "Head in the Girl" Ian invited Brad (from lP) up on stage to sing with them! (I was all out of film by this time so couldn't get any pics....dam it!) Then surprise! "Immigrant Song"!!!!! Patrick came on stage and took Ian's guitar over, then one by one left Pencey took over all the instruments! It was phenomenal!! To see BW hand them over to the new guys! Ian sat down right infront of me and just took it all in when they were all playing! It couldn't have been a better end to the show! Afterwards, we were standing around finishing our drinks and we hung out with left Pencey for awhile. I gave Dave a light for his smoke and we chatted for a bit. He said he saw some pictures on the web from the last time they were here that were really good! I was quite impressed to here he'd seen those pictures I took cause they did turn out really good! I caught Forrest on his way by me and talked to him for a while as well. They both said that the tour was going pretty good so far and as Ian put it during the show "We're playing anywhere people walk upright!" Great music! Great show!! Great evening!!! Mouse, I've got the pictures back and they turned out pretty good, not as good as last time but I did get some really good ones. I'll email them to ya when I get to my sisters to use her scanner. Hope this was a good enough review for ya!
