June 21, 2001 - North Star Bar, Philadelphia, PA Posted By Joychica Last night's show was just amazing. It was amazing for many many reasons. First let me see if I can remember the entire set list. Inhale Look What I Found That Song Knee Deep (song order gets a little fuzzy here) Undersold Blown Wide Open All By Design Ladylike Breakthrough The Oaf Head In the Girl Somewhere in here they started playing "Eye of the Tiger" everyone wanted to hear this. By the time Ian got to the lyrics he started laughing and they didn't finish it. They even broke out into a Buckley tune...I wish I could remember the name of the song. I feel I'm missing something... So the show was amazing, I was hurting by the time I got to the North Star. Hadn't had any sleep all week, went out to a scrumptious Spanish/Dominican dinner and drank way too much wine and champagne. Got to the show had a couple more drinks. Met up with Mike (mcatone) chatted with BW and Mike's friends. Met the opening band Little Joe Pinto which was really good. Totally cool manager (in case he's reading this...I'll be in touch with you soon!) The shocker of the night was standing there watching BW perform and noticing this guy standing in front of me who was very polite when he tried to get up to where his lady was. I didn't want to stare but it was one of those "I know who that is...why do I know who that is???" It just so happened to be Carter Beauford the drummer for Dave Matthews Band. Everyone thought it was really cool that he showed up (DMB are in town for 3 sold out shows starting tonight) Seemed Forrest was excited as well, since he had to ditch us to go chat with Carter instead of us! Just kidding Forrest was totally cool chatted with us about the NYC gig. Everyone in the NYC area better go to the Mercury Lounge on Monday!!!! BW was amazing the crowd was great. Ian even said on stage "tonight quantity doesn't matter because the quality tonight is great" (once again my quote may be a little off but that's basically what he said.) So I think that was pretty much it from last night's show. I must go to bed now since I didn't get home until 2am had about 3 hours of sleep, went to work with a hangover..of course went out after work to a bar and I'm barely hanging on to write this email before I collapse! Of course no sleep tomorrow as I head to NYC for the weekend....I miss sleep! Laura
