April 2, 2002 - Legends, Victoria, BC Posted By AndyBoy I was also at the show. I'm pretty sure the setlist order went like this: Look What I Found That Song How Would You Know (with "If I Had My Way" interlude) Inhale Knee Deep Breakthrough Undersold Blown Wide Open Under The Lighthouse Ladylike (with Another Brick in the Wall intro) Head In The Girl Encore The Oaf (with Baba O'Riley interlude) Highlights: Blown Wide Open: Tthe part where it builds then explodes into the final chorus. The Oaf: There was some old dude with a tambourine on stage with them. I missed Ian's explination as to who he was, but he sounded pretty good playing along. They finished the Oaf with the classic Rock show ending: a building of all the instruments in a wave of distortion and feedback (Ian held out his guitar for fans to paw at, adding to the noise), followed by a couple of heavy beats, and then silence. Inhale: Started with him talking about pot, and how this next song had been nominated for the High Times Magazine pot somokers song of the year. I love the intro riff played on the 12 string. Ian's stage presence: As Salty Dog mentioned, Ian was grumpy about the monitors, but the guy is the ultimate rock star. He's got the look, the attitude, the awesome musicianship, and great overall stage presence. Despite being pissed off about the sound, he still looked like he was having a good time. Lowlights: The only real lowlight, as Salty mentioned, was that Ian let the monitor problems become a distraction - cause they sounded great anyway. He could have not said a word, and nobody would have noticed. |
